Troops of the 144 Brigade and 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the14 Division of the Security Force HQ- West coordinated another humanitarian event of providing king coconut water (Thambili) to Cancer patients who are under treatment at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital on 22 August.
Organized under the patronage of the General Officer Commanding 14 Division, Brigadier Roshan Jayamanna, necessary arrangements for the programme were coordinated by the Army personnel of 144 Brigade and 2 (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry under the guidance of the Commander 144 Brigade, Brigadier Vindana Kodituwakku. 2000 king coconuts were used to give a cooling effect to all those patients.
Commander 144 Brigade, Army personnel of 144 Brigade and 2 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the Director with Administrative Authorities of the Apeksha Hospital participated in this event.
