Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), together with several of its formations, held separate New Year Festivals on Tuesday (14) and Friday (17) in respective areas.
The main SFHQ-KLN had its ceremony at SFHQ premises on Friday (17) under the auspices of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN as the Chief Guest. SFHQ-KLN officers and other rankers and family members joined New Year games and other fun-making features during the festival. After prizes were given away to the winners, all joined a Bodhi Pooja at the temple premises to invoke blessings on the New Year.
Meanwhile, 572 and 574 Brigades together with 16 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 17 (V) Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops, held their separate New Year festivals at their respective Brigade and Battalion Headquarter premises on Tuesday (14).
Commanders of 572 and 574 Brigades, Commanding Officers of 16 (V) SLLI and 17 (V) GR, attended those ceremonies separately as distinguished guests.
The events were coloured by many varieties of traditional games and fun-making features, which offered glamour and humour to the attendees.
Senior officers and a large gathering of civilians enjoyed those festivals.
