Kilinochchi Troops, Busy Constructing Six New Homes for Needy Civilians

As per guidelines given by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, the Security Force HQ-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) has launched a house construction project for needy people with the support of philanthropists and donors.

At present, six houses are under construction in remote areas under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 66 Division, Major General Ajith Dissanayake in consultation with the Kilinochchi Commander.

The project, meant to uplift living standards of the most-affected sections of the society and reconciliation was launched after the Commander of the Army instructed all SFHQs to launch projects for the welfare of low-income groups at village level.

The Commander, 661 Brigade, Colonel Deeptha Ariyasena, Commander, 662 Brigade, Colonel Chaminda Liyanage and Commander, 663 Brigade, Brigadier Subasana Liyanagama are currently tapping the technical expertise from 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment, 20 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard troops for completion of the project.
