In response to a personal request made by Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces-Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), the Foundation of Goodness delivered a large stock of school accessories for distribution among school students in Kilinochchi area on Tuesday (30).
During a simple ceremony held at the Nelum Piyasa auditorium, those school accessories were distributed among 100 school children in Mallavi, Pooneryn and Vishuamadu areas in Kilinochchi district.
The consignment contained 100 gift parcels of school books, accessories, school bags and each packet was worth Rs. 3500/=. In addition, each student received a cash gift of Rs 1000/=.
Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest together with Mr. Ananda Jayawardena, Operational Manager of the Foundation of Goodness.
All the attendees in the ceremony were treated to refreshments, offered by 8 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment towards the end of the day’s event.
Major General Jagath Guanawardana, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, principals, teachers, parents, students and serving troops attended the event.
