Singer Sri Lanka Private Limited at the request of the Army offered its sponsorship for distribution of gift packs with toys among kids in 8 pre-schools, functioning in the general areas of Mukkampan and Akkarayankulam, served by 662 Brigade troops on Wednesday (27).
Launched as a community welfare project of the Brigade Headquarters, arrangements to this effect were effected by 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 20 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops of the 662 Brigade for distribution of those gift packs.
A request made by the General Officer Commanding, 66 Division to the sponsor enabled the troops to deliver those gifts to the kids of low-income group families. The pack contained toys and other most essential items for learning. Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, General Officer Commanding, 66 Division attended the distribution ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Senior Officers, Commanding Officers of under command battalions, teachers and parents also participated in the distribution ceremony.
