Kids at ‘Lakdaru Preschool’ in Navatkuli, Jaffna enjoyed a sightseeing tour to Colombo, organized by 523 Infantry Brigade troops of the 52 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - Jaffna during 29 - 30 September in line with the International Children’s Day.
After taking them to Colombo by train from Jaffna, the Army facilitated their city tour by providing a bus. They all visited the ‘Water World Kelaniya’ and the ‘Lotus Tower Colombo’.
Blessings of Major General S.R.K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna, enabled those children to watch attractions in the capital for the first time in their life. The conceptual guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division prompted the arrangements.
During the entire journey, the children were provided with free meals and beverages by Officers and Other Ranks of the 11 Field Sri Lanka Engineers Regiment of the Army. In addition, they were provided with a packet of sweets, gifted by the General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division.
Teachers and parents of ‘Lakdaru’ Preschool in Jaffna praised the Army for the arrangement. The project was closely supervised by Colonel M.B.L Perera RSP USP psc, Brigade Commander, 523 Infantry Brigade.
