Sponsorship provided by the sacred Katagama Devalaya and its Basnayake Nilame facilitated the construction of a new house for another needy family, temporarily sheltered in Weadasiti Kanda Tempe road, Kataragama.
Troops of the 23 Gajaba Regiment under command to the 122 Brigade of the 12 Division of the Security Forces - Central erected this new house for the needy family of Mrs Sujith Prasanga. Unveiling of a plaque and religious rites and rituals saw the keys were symbolically handed over by Major General Prasanna Ranawaka, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division, to members of the destitute family on 30 November in a simple ceremony.
Donor representatives, Commander, 122 Brigade, few Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion by adhering to health guidelines.
