Karainagar Family also Gets New House, Built by Army Troops

During a brief ceremony organized by 513 Brigade troops on Tuesday (13), the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera, amid religious blessings laid the cornerstone to construct one more new house for the family of Mr Thambirasa Maniyalagan after identifying the miserable living condition of the family, living in the general area of Karainagar, Jaffna.

One Mr Mohan Shankar from Colombo has volunteered to sponsor the construction of this house in view of their helpless living conditions at the request of the SFHQ-J.

Troops of 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry would provide manpower and technical expertise for the construction work which would begin under the supervision of the Brigadier Mohammed Farez - 513 Brigade Commander. After the foundation-laying ceremony, the Commander Security Forces Jaffna distributed dry ration packs to the potential beneficiary of the new house. In addition, Major General Priyantha Perera gifted a stock of school stationery for the use of children in the family on the same occasion.

General Officer Commanding 51 Division - Major General Deepal Pussella, Commanders of 511,512,513 and 515 Brigades, Senior Officers, state officials and Other Ranks, involved in the project were also associated with the inaugural cornerstone-laying ceremony, adhering to strict health guidelines against COVID-19.
