More than 40 students at AM/Kalmunai Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya were the beneficiaries for receipt of free school shoes and enjoyed a free lunch meal on Monday (2 Oct) on account of the World’s Children day.
The shoes were made available thanks to the generosity of the All Ranks of the 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), Brigadier L.S.D.N Pathirathna RSP USP, Brigade Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, attended as the Chief Guest for the occasion. Major K.U.R Kaluarachchi RSP, Commanding Officer, 18 VIR organized the event.
Similarly, the Calypso band of the 18 VIR battalion provided music to the occasion and entertained the students and teachers alike. At the same time, teachers also enjoyed the free meal, supplied by the troops.
