ANURADHAPURA: JUNGLE ROAMING terrorists in KEBITHIGOLLEWA area in ANURADHAPURA launched an abortive attempt to attack a Police roadblock near HALAMILLAWETIYA junction early this morning (11) at about 4.00 a.m..
Alert Police personnel responded to the enemy fire strongly despite a chain of fire directed by Tiger terrorists towards the roadblock. The retaliatory fire forced Tigers to retreat immediately.
One Special Task Force member sustained injuries in the terrorist fire and was evacuated to hospital.
A search operation was inducted afterwards.
