A combined group of old boys from Vidyartha Vidyalaya, Royal College, University of Colombo and University of Sri Jayawardenepura through the coordination of Mr Prasad Lokubalasooriya and 8 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops of the 542 Brigade of the 54 Division in Mannar donated dry ration packs for 75 low income group families in Silawathura, Mannar on Saturday (16) as one of their community projects.
During the same arrangement, special dry ration packets were gifted to temples in Mannar area.
The event was organized under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 54 Division with the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, Major General Champaka Ranasinghe. The GOC, 54 Division, Major General U.D Wijesekara, Brigade Commander, 542 Brigade, Colonel Coordination, 54 Division, Senior Officers and Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya with few members of the donor team and their family members participated in the donation project.
