An educative lecture session, themed on ‘Blissful Army Life’, organized by the Directorate of Psychological Operations got underway at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna on Tuesday (22).
Those lectures covered ‘Prevention of suicide, Mental stress, Family conflicts, Work disputes’ and promotion of conduct of happy life, etc. Those lectures were conducted by Major U.P Mallawaarachchi, Major M.P.A Priyankara, Lieutenant P.A.C.P.K Peduruarachchi, Lieutenant J.D.U.C Jayakody, Lieutenant P.M.T.H.R Wijesena and Lieutenant K.P.K Antony of the Directorate of Psychological Operations.
23 Officers and 203 Other Ranks of the Security Forces - Jaffna listened to the lectures.
Meanwhile, Directorate of Psychological Operations organized a lecture on ‘Suicide Prevention’ under the same project on Tuesday (22) at the 52 Divisional Headquarters in Jaffna.
The lectures were conducted by the instructors of the Army Directorate of Preventive Medicine and Mental Health.
11 Officers and 134 Other Ranks listened to the lectures.
Meanwhile, one more phase of the ongoing ‘Blissful Army Life’ programme which was initiated to improve positive-thinking attitudes and mental health of Officers and soldiers of the Army got underway at the Battalion Training School of the 55 Division on Thursday (24).
5 Officers and 182 Other Ranks listened to the lectures and they were also enlightened on ‘Prevention of suicide attempts’ too.
Directorate of Psychological Operations coordinated this event and Officers in the Directorate of Preventive Medicine & Mental Health Services, Major U.P Mallawarachchi, Major M.A.P Priyakara, Lieutenant P.A.C.P.K Peduruarachchi, Lieutenant J.D.U.C Jayakody, Lieutenant P.M.T.H.
