On an initiative taken by the Security Force HQ - Jaffna, a team of medical Consultants, led by Prof Dr Anula Wijesundera conducted a full-day mobile medical clinic and an educative consultation project at Marathankerni Rural Hospital premises on Saturday (25) with the objective of educating civilians and alerting them to be aware of dangers in contracting common diseases and other ailments.
More than 200 civilians and students sought help from the arrangement, organized by the 553 Brigade troops of the 55 Division on the guidelines given by the Jaffna Commander and the 55 Division General Officer Commanding, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda. The medical team, led by Dr Wijesundera included four medical officers and ten assistants, including nurses.
