358 coconut seedlings covering 6 acres of land in the Palaly Army Farm were planted on Thursday (28) on experimental basis in consultation with the Coconut Research Institute. Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya was there to plant the first few saplings.
The Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) launched this initiative to experiment and explore whether coconut cultivation is possible in the Northern Province.
