On the directions and guidance of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, few programmes to revive ecosystem have been implemented coinciding with the World Environment Day in Jaffna Peninsula on 05 June 2022.
Accordingly, troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna and local civilians together organized a clean-up operation along the coastal belt of Charity Beach, Myliddy Beach and Beach areas in general area aiming to encourage the people to keep these beautiful beaches free from polythene and other plastic related pollutants.
Further, a tree planting programme to restore the ecosystem and distribution of coconut saplings to people in the peninsula also took place to mark the World Environment Day.
