Jaffna troops once again extending their helping hand for a worthy cause completed the construction of a new house for a needy family in Kopai, Jaffna, following sponsorship provided by Mr Vamadeva Thiagendran, Founder and Chairman of Thiyahie Charitable Trust.
The project enthusiastically coordinated by Major General Lalith Rathnayake, General Officer Commanding 51 Division received the blessings of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces -Jaffna. The formal warming ceremony of the new house, erected for the family of Mrs Rasadorai Sandeeran Mala took place on Saturday (16) during a simple occasion, restricted to prevailing health guidelines. The donor in addition to the resources given for the construction donated his own piece of land for this construction and wanted only the troops to construct it
In accordance with Hindu traditions, the Chief Guest for the occasion, Major General Wanigasooriya, together with the General Officer Commanding 51 Division, formally vested the new house in the family in the presence of the donor and troops who laboured to make the project a success. Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, a few of her relatives and troops were present at the location during the warming ceremony. Jaffna troops in the past few years have built over 700 such houses for needy Jaffna families after mustering sponsorship from philanthropists, resident both here and abroad.Sports Shoes | Releases Nike Shoes
