Jaffna Troops with ‘Daham Pahana’ Give more Assistance for Civilians

A total of closely selected 290 school students of low-income groups and 50 deserving families in the Jaffna peninsula once again received the Army hand of assistance through donation of educational accessories and water filters respectively on Saturday (22), following coordination the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) has had with the 'Daham Pahana' programme of Brother Charles Thomas.

Headed by Brother Charles Thomas and Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, the distribution ceremony took place at Chelva Palace Reception Hall in Jaffna in the presence of a large gathering of beneficiaries, parents and invitees. In addition, a stock of coconut saplings were also distributed among needy families in the area.
