Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna made official visits to HQ Forward Maintenance Area-North (FMA-N) and its under command Logistic Units on 18 July 2022.
On arrival at the Forward Maintenance Area-North HQ, he was received by the Commander, FMA-North, Brigadier A.C.A De Zoysa. The Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna was also invited to plant a coconut sapling to mark his visit to the Forward Maintenance Area - North before he addressed the troops and joined all ranks for refreshments.
Subsequently, he posed for a group photograph with all Commanding Officers of Logistics Units and the Staff at the FMA-North HQ.
Thereafter, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara visited the 5 Battalion of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Headquarters and shared few thoughts with the troops. During the camp visit, the Jaffna Commander posed for a group photograph and planted a sapling as a symbol of memory.
Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering of the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna, Commanding Officers, Officers and troops of the Forward Maintenance Area-North were also present during those visits.
Meanwhile, Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna made his first formal field visits to 51, 52 and 55 Divisions during 8, 9 and 11 July 2022 in order to receive an update on the role and tasks of those Divisions and under command Brigades and Units.
A drive pass Guard Turnout at the main entrances of those Divisions in keeping with military traditions saluted him before he addressed the troops and emphasized the importance of being a disciplined soldier.
The address followed the planting of saplings as symbols of memory of his visits to those HQs. He also did not forget to sit for group photographs in respective Divisions.
He also paid visits to several under command Brigades and Units during the same period.
Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, senior officers and troops were associated with the chain of visits.
