Iranians will be Sent for Quarantine - NOCPCO

85 Iranians, belonging to one of the main contractors in the ongoing Uma Oya Multi-purpose Development Project arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (15) by the passenger aircraft IR-5374. After the results of PCR tests, all of them will be sent to Karandagolla special residential Quarantine Center, maintained under the supervision of the Army. As at present (1200 hours) they are staying at Blue Water Hotel in Negombo, a Media statement issued this morning (16) by the Military Spokesman, Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Similarly, the Flight No H 96731 from Nepal will arrive in Sri Lanka today (16) with 42 passengers. All of them will be sent to QCs, managed by tri services for necessary quarantine process.

Meanwhile, 179 individuals after completion of the quarantine process at Brandix Poonani (123), Nipuna Boossa (15), Diyagama (22), Meeyankulam (12), and Panichchankerni (7) Quarantine Centres will leave for their homes today (16) after the conduct of PCR tests and with Quarantine Certificates.

Today (16), a total of 14,097 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QCs left for their homes.

As of now, 4,297 persons are still in quarantine in 44 island-wide QCs, run by tri services.

By today (0600 hours), 16 more COVID-19 positive cases were reported. Of them, 13 people were from overseas-based Sri Lankans and 03 were sailors. Similarly, 55 personnel, 23 overseas-based Sri Lankans and 32 heroic sailors recovered and left hospitals yeasterday (15).

As of now, heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stand at 885 in total. Of them, 740 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A total of 145 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement ended. best shoes | Patike
