The Army's Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) in Kukulegaga, the only training centre that imparts knowledge on UN peacekeeping assignments, commemorated its 16th anniversary with several religious and social service programmes, organized on the guidelines given by the IPSOTSL Commandant, Brigadier R.A.D.S Shantha Ranaweera.
On the anniversary day (12), the Commandant addressed all troops on and planted a Mango sapling inside the camp premises before All Ranks joined a special lunch on account of the anniversary.
A special Dhamma sermon, held by a monk the same evening spoke on the importance of mindfulness and the spiritual well-being before blessings were invoked on the IPSOTSL, Armed Forces and the country in general.
On the following day (13), more than 60 troops respectively visited Kosgulana and Kelinkanda temples in the area and cleaned temple compounds after disposing all unwanted garbage and other waste matter.
The Commandant Brigadier Shantha Ranaweera, Chief Instructor Lieutenant Colonel Ananda Samaranayake and all officers, School Regiment Sergeant Major and all Other Ranks were associated with 16th anniversary commemorative arrangements, organized adhering to health guidelines.
