IPSOTSL Celebrates its 19th Anniversary

The Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) in Kukuleganga, the only training centre, exclusively dedicated for training of Sri Lankan troops for UN peacekeeping missions marked its 19th anniversary on 12 June at the IPSOTSL premises with several projects.

A special cleaning project was conducted in Kosgulana temple premises before alms were offered along with some stationery items for the use of novice monks, resident in the temple. With the intention of enhancing the goodwill between the IPSOTSL and Course attendees, a softball cricket tournament got underway as part of the anniversary programmes.

In accordance with the long-lasting military traditions, a formal Guard Turnout was presented to Brigadier C.A Rajapakse RSP, the Commandant IPSOTSL on the anniversary day soon after his arrival there. Afterwards, he planted a sapling in the compound as a token of remembrance of the 19th anniversary of the institute. Group photograph, the customary troops’ address conducted by the Commandant IPSOTSL and an All rank lunch brought the anniversary arrangements to an end.
