Inter Regiment Triathlon Championship Held at Embilipitiya

The Inter Regiment Triathlon Championship got underway on Sunday (27 Aug) at the Chandrika Tank bund in Embilipitiya with the participation of 72 competitors representing 12 Regiments.

The championship events consisted of 750m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running.

Major General M.K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Chairman of the Army Triathlon Committee attended the event as the Chief Guest.

During the event, the Sri Lanka Artillery secured the team championship pushing Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers for the runner-up trophy.

2nd Place - Lance Corporal B.D Priyankara -VIR

3rd Place - Lance Bombardier H.C.K Sugathapala - SLA

1st Place - Craftsman G.A.C.S Wickramarachchi - SLEME

2nd Place - Lance Corporal M.P.S.R Priyadarshana -SLEME

3rd Place - Lance Corporal H.B.A Chandrasiri -SLAOC

Female Champions

1st Place - Lance Corporal H.K.I.T Udayakumari - SLAWC
