Extending goodwill and assuring all time assistance and protection, a programme to provide school accessories and essentials to the inmates at Karuna Nilayam Hostel where 36 parentless school children and 20 mentally-retarded women are housed, got underway on Tuesday (28) at Kilinochchi.
Together with gift parcels containing essentials, Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi visited the place and inquired into the well-being of those inmates.
Major General Ranasinghe spoke to the trustee, Rev Fr S.K Danniel, the residential manager and the group of employees attending on those helpless inmates.
Several senior officers and other rankers joined the visit.
