Indian NDC Delegation in Sri Lanka Meets Commander of the Army

A delegation of 14 military officers of India’s National Defence College (NDC), headed by Major General S.C Mohanthy AVSM, Chief of the Directing Staff, NDC, as part of their familiarization tour in the curriculum, arrived in Sri Lanka Sunday (26) evening and met the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the Army Headquarters on Monday (27).

The delegation has also been invited to the ‘Colombo Defence Seminar-2018’beginning on August 30 at BMICH. During the interaction with the Commander of the Army, a representative group exchanged views with the Commander on matters relevant to military studies, etc.

Director General Training, Major General Aruna Wanniarachchi afterwards conducted a briefing on the Sri Lanka Army and explained current roles and tasks of the organization.

The delegation was received at the airport by diplomats and representative Army Officers of the Sri Lanka Army on arrival. During their stay in Sri Lanka, the delegation is scheduled to call at the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters, Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters, offices of the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna and the Commander, Eastern Naval Area.

The delegation during the tour will also evaluate economic prospects in the country, Sri Lanka’s foreign relations, Army, Navy and Air Force operations and current engagements, challenges faced by Sri Lanka after elimination of the LTTE and its humanitarian operations, etc. The delegation includes officer instructors and student Officers of the NDC.Sneakers Store | Autres
