Indian Army Chief Calls on CDS & Navy Commander

The Indian Army’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Bipin Rawat currently in Sri Lanka paid separate courtesy calls on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the Commander of the Navy on Monday (14) at their respective offices in Colombo.

Soon after his cordial meeting with the Commander of the Army, he called on Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, Commander of the Navy at first at the Navy Headquarters where he was greeted to military honours before a courtesy meeting between the visiting India’s COAS and the Navy Commander took place.

Afterwards, the visiting COAS of the Indian Army met Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunaratne, CDS at his office in the BMICH where he was warmly received. During the interactive meeting that followed, the two chiefs discussed matters of mutual defence cooperation and bilateral interests. Towards the end of the meeting, mementos were also exchanged as symbols of goodwill and memory.
