India’s NDC Delegates Meet Commander at AHQ

A sixteen-member delegation of India’s National Defence College (NDC), led by Major General Uramkumarath Suresh Kumar, Senior Directing Staff, currently on a five-day (25-29 Aug) study tour as part of the NDC ‘Strategic Neighborhood Tour’ in their curriculum on Monday (26) called at the Army Headquarters in order to pay a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.

Director General Training, Major General Suraj Bangsajayah, received them on arrival at the Army Headquarters and ushered a representative team of the visiting delegation to call on the Commander of the Army at the Commander’s Office.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva during his brief and cordial interactive meeting with the Head of the delegation, Major General Uramkumarath Suresh Kumar and Brigadier Navpreet Singh Alang, Senior Directing Staff at NDC, shared views on training modules and the importance of exchange of information and experience with neighbourly military organizations.

Towards the end of the cordial meeting, the Commander of the Army and Major General Uramkumarath Suresh Kumar exchanged mementos as symbols of goodwill.

Director General Training, Major General Suraj Bangsajayah afterwards conducted a briefing on the Sri Lanka Army and explained current roles and tasks of the organization to the visiting delegation.

During their stay in Sri Lanka, the delegation is scheduled to lay wreaths at the Battaramulla IPKF memorial, and call on Hon. State Minister of Defence, Defence Secretary, Commander of the Air Force before they undertake a tour around the country.

The delegation includes Army, Navy, Air Force Officers of the Indian Armed Forces, Bangladesh Armed Forces, Bhutanese Armed Forces, Saudi Arabian Armed Forces and a team of eleven spouses visiting Officers.Adidas shoes | Nike
