Illicit Tree Fellers Nabbed by 20 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment

20 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops of the 65 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Monday (26) apprehended three men, suspected to have been involved in illicit tree cutting in the general forest area of Kannakaipuram, Kilinochchi.

Troops on routine duties spotted these suspects while they were felling a Palu tree using a power saw and supporting equipment. Troops immediately instructed them to stop the practice and inform the 65 Division Headquarters and the Kilinochchi Forest office.

Later on, the suspects were handed over to forest officials for onward action, together with the felled logs and equipment.
