The Officers of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) listened to a lecture delivered by Ms Verena Neundeter, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) regional delegate in Sri Lanka during 16 - 17 November at Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force School in Diyatalawa.
A total of 38 Staff Officers, Commanding Officers and Unit Commanders serving under the SFHQ-C followed this two-day workshop. Mr Albert Schoneveld, ICRC FAS regional delegate and Mr Channa Jayawardane, FAS programme advisor, ICRC Colombo also contributed to the sessions.
The lectures largely focused on the 'Role of ICRC', 'International Humanitarian Law’ and ‘Human Rights’ as well as other essential aspects as regards detention of victims, internal security, military interventions, etc.
