On a suggestion made by Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi and under the guidance of the Commander Forward Maintenance Area - Kilinochchi Major General Piyal Nanayakkarawasam, a fleet of old vehicles and bicycles were completely repaired and handed them over for the use of Battalions under command to the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi on 27 May 2021.
Two trucks, three tractors, ambulance, eighty foot bicycles and twenty food container bicycles were thus repaired and made functional by troops of 7 Sri Lanka Army Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) under the supervision of the Commanding officer of the 7 SLEME, Major D.M.C.M Weerakoon.
Brigadier Admin and Quartering and other Senior Staff Officers of the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi, Commanding Officers, Officers and troops were present during the formal handover, adhering to all COVID-19 preventive measures.
