Colombo ‘Jayagrahanaya’ organization and Colombo Sonata Ladies Club jointly organized commencement of a sewing course of self-employment for women in Halambaweva village under Sampathnuwara Divisional Secretariat.
One sewing machine and accessories, needed for fabric painting to the value of Rs 83,000/= were gifted to the villagers by these two organizations.
Mrs Wasantha Amarasingha of Colombo ‘Jayagrahanaya’, and Mrs Maria Michael of Colombo Sonata Ladies Club attended the inaugural occasion of the sewing course.
622 Brigade Commander, Sponsors, senior officers and villagers of Halambawewa participated in the day’s event. Army troops coordinated the event.
