GW Senior Officer Welcomed at Regimental Centre

The Gemunu Watch (GW) Regimental HQ at Kuruvita extended its customary felicitation ceremony to newly-promoted one of the Senior Officers, Major General Wajira Welagedara when he arrived at the GW Regimental Headquarters in Kuruwita on Saturday (3).

The day’s event began with a Guard Turnout salute at the entrance to the camp premises to the newly-promoted Senior Officer. Afterwards, he attended the commemoration of fallen War Heroes, held at the monument.

Subsequently, he received the Guard of Honour salute of the Gemunu Watch troops.

Later on, Brigadier Janaka Wimalathne, Centre Commandant at GW Regimental HQ invited the day’s Chief Guest to an All Rank tea.

Gemunu Watch Council Members, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
