The Regimental HQ of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) presented military honours and warm greetings to three of its newly-promoted Major Generals, Major General Ajith Dissanayake, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 66 Division, Major General Manoj Lamahewa, GOC, 59 Division and Major General Manjula Karunaratne, GOC, 64 Division, during a formal joint ceremony held on Tuesday (19) at the Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.
Featuring the traditional event, first, they reviewed the Guard Turnout presented by the Regimental Headquarters troops and accepted the regimental salute accorded in the Guard of Honour that followed separately. After that, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi and Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Artillery invited newly-promoted Major Generals to his office and extended his best wishes of the Regiment on behalf of all Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment. All officers afterwards posed for a photograph with new Major Generals and the day's proceedings culminated with the all rank lunch at the 6th Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery Headquarters.
