GRIEVANCES OF THE ARMY SNCO TO BE ADDRESSED

Sri Lanka Army would take necessary measures to rectify any anomalies that would have caused delays in resolving the grievances of a former Senior Non Commissioned Officer (SNCO) of the Army, who has had staged a protest this morning (26) at Colombo, Fort alleging that he had been subjected to some injustices in administrative procedures.

The said SNCO, attached to the Regimental Headquarters Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment after he sustained injuries during the battles in Olumadu had however vacated his post a few months ago and failed to report back. It was claimed that a delay in some administrative procedures of the Army has led him to Monday's (26) protest, alleging that his workmates were allegedly treated otherwise.

Fort Police however talked to the protester who was on a tower at that time and managed to get him down before the matter was referred to the Army for resolution. (Ends)
