GOC Engineer Division Invited to 82nd Founder’s Day at Dharmapala College

Major General Lanka Amarapala, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Engineer Division was recently invited to be the Chief Guest at Pannipitiya Dharmapala College on its 82nd Founder’s Day ceremony at the invitation of the Principal, Ms. Maheshika Rupasinghe.

The day's Chief Guest on arrival was honoured and saluted by the college's Cadet platoon before he was invited to lay a floral wreath and salute of the founding father, Ven. Anagarika Dharmapala statue.

Thereafter, the day’s Chief Guest was invited to enlighten college prefects and senior students on the theme ' Leading Future Generation for a Great Leadership'. In his speech, Major General Lanka Amarapala reminded all the prefects and senior students of the importance of developing their leadership qualities to face non traditional threats, particularly of the drugs, etc.

Towards the end of the speech, the Principal presented an appreciative memento to the day's protagonist on behalf of all teachers and students. The Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Major General Dharshana Hettiarachchi, Commissioner General of Prisons (Administration) and Spokesman, Mr. Chandana Ekanayake and a gathering of past students were among the distinguished invitees.

The Vice Principal, Mr Nimal Wasala who raised the vote of thanks and members of the tutorial staff were also present during the occasion.
