General Amnesty period offered to Tri-service Absentees without official leave to obtain their legal discharge after reporting to their respective Regimental Headquarters ended on Saturday (31 December).
By Saturday evening, a total of 11 officers and 7812 other ranks of the Army, 2 officers and 709 sailors of the Navy and 21 officers and 312 airmen of the Air Force have obtained their legal discharge accordingly.
The General Amnesty for legal discharge came into effect on 1 December 2016 on a decision made by the Ministry of Defence.
