Gemunu Watch Organizes Mega Musical Event With Presentation of Colours


The Gemunu Watch (GW) Regimental Headquarters with a view to further strengthening its coffers to carry out more and more welfare roles for its disable War Heroes, family members of fallen War Heroes et al, recently organized a mega musical show, a lottery draw and the presentation of colours to those excelled in sports.

‘Minipura Gemunu Nada – 2011’, backed by the popular music band, ‘Highlanders’ kicked off the inauguration of the evening entertainment and was later followed by ‘Sunflowers’ as ‘Amali & Dancing Stars’ joined to colour the dazzling event. Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, Mullaittivu after lighting the traditional oil lamp as the Chief Guest, inaugurated the day’s programme.

 Memory of the fallen GW War Heroes was revered giving pride of place as GW Regimental song rent the air before the musical session commenced. The Chief Guest before drawing lottery tickets presented Army Colours, Defence Services Colours and Regimental Colours to the recipients, together with senior officers.

The GW lottery gifted the first 10 winners with a three-wheeler, a motorbike, a mini motorbike, LCD television and six mobile phone units.
