Gajaba Regiment Team Wins 'ARFRO Master Mind Competition - 2023’

The Association of Retired Flag Rank Officers (ARFRO)-organized ‘ARFRO Master Mind Competition - 2023’ got underway at Golden Rose Hotel, Boralesgamuwa on Friday (25 August).

Representing Sri Lanka Army (60 teams), Sri Lanka Navy (20 teams), Sri Lanka Air Force (5 teams) and Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) - 1 team participated in the ARFRO's ‘Do You Know’ competition that cross checked the knowledge on the military history, international relationship, sports, science and general knowledge standards of all tri service personnel through this competition.

General Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence graced the event as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the ARFRO.

The Gajaba Regiment team of the Army won the Championship pushing Sri Lanka Navy and the Army's Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) teams to be runners up respectively.

At the end of the competition, General Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, together with Air Chief Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala RWP, RSP, VSV, USP, M Phil (Def & Strat Stu), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, MIM (SL), ndc, psc, President, ARFRO awarded certificates to the winners in separate teams.

Major General (Dr) K.D.B Perera (Rtd), Major General W.G.M.U.R Perera (Rtd), Retired Senior Tri-forces Officers, Major General J.A.R.S.K Jayasekara USP psc, Director, Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (DEME), Senior Tri-forces Officers and Officers also attended the event.
