Four More Expatriates Confirmed Positive in Past 24 Hours-NOCPCO

As of this morning (21), four expatriates were confirmed positive to COVID-19. They are from Italy (01) at Anuradhapura Hotel Palm Garden QC, Saudi Arabia (01) at Hotel Pasivilla QC, another from Saudi Arabia (01) at Hotel Jetwing Sunreach QC and one (01) more from Punani QC, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (21), the total number of detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 649. Of them, 528 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight UL 605 from Australia with 288 passengers and the flight EK 648 from Dubai with 420 passengers, the flight 6E 9034 from Chennai, India with 06 passengers and the flight UL 455 from Japan with 10 passengers have arrived in Sri Lanka. All of them were treferred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (21), 136 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, were 117 persons from Kandakadu QC, 06 from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, 06 from Hotel Jetwing Sea QC and 07 more persons from Biyagama Village QC.

Likewise, 43,684 individuals by this morning (21) have been sent back home after quarantining. 6182 persons in 66 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (20), 1785 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 268,371.

Meanwhile, 18 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (21). All of them are expatriates. Accordingly, 638 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery.

A total of 11 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment. Since no positive cases have been reported from society other than among those arriving from overseas, all Sri Lankans are urged to continue their health practices and help prevention of its transmission as per instructions given by health authorities.
