Former Gajaba Regiment Veteran Calls on Commander of the Army

Brigadier C.R.M Silva (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP, one of the most senior veterans in the ‘Keterian’ family, Gajaba Regiment this afternoon (28 Dec) was warmly received at the Army HQ when he arrived there to pay courtesies to Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army.

At the main entrance, the Army Chief warmly welcomed the visiting senior veteran, who happened to be a former Commanding Officer of the incumbent Commander of the Army. Subsequently, both of them posed for a group photograph, together with the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Principal Staff Officers and a few Senior Officers serving in the Army HQ in order to give him due respect.

Brigadier C.R.M Silva (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP, one of the proud products of the Gajaba Regiment who retired from the Army in April 2006 has rendered a notable service to the Army at operational, administrative and academic levels.

The Army Chief during the brief interactive meeting admired the retired Senior Officer’s valuable contribution to the Army holding varied offices and responsible appointments during his career of more than 26 years. He also extended best wishes to the visiting Senior Keterian by presenting a memento after the meeting.

After the cordial interactions with the Commander of the Army, Brigadier C.R.M Silva (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP had a field visit inside the Army HQ premises, together with Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff and Major General S.A.N.D Edirisinghe RWP RSP psc Hdmc, Director General, Directorate of Operations.
