Footballers from 16 Teams Vie for Championship

An Inter Regiment Football Tournament organized by the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) ended on Saturday (6) at the Polo playground, Diyatalawa with finals played between 2 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and 7 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) teams.

Organized on the directions of Major General Mano Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C, the tournament was competed by 16 Football teams of different Brigades, Battalions and Units during the month of November.

The final match was a close fight but the 2 (v) SLSR team emerged champions beating 7 SLSC footballers.

At the end of the finals, Major General Mano Perera, Chief Guest gave away trophies to the winners.
