The football team of the Security Forces Headquarters Team clinched the Football Trophy-2019 in the Football Tournament, organized by the 522 Brigade under the supervision of the 52 Division on the directions of the Security Force Headquarters- Jaffna.
The final match was played at the 5 Sri Lanka Army Ordinance Corps playground on Monday (23 ) and witnessed by a large gathering of football fans and distinguished guests, including Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders and Senior Officers were also present during the event.
The football tournament was conducted with the participation of 10 football teams representing troops serving under the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna, including 51, 52 and 55 Divisions and the Forward Maintenance Area.
Accordingly, the Security Force Headquarters Team and the 51 Division Team qualified for the finals. The Security Forces Headquarters Team won the series by defeating the 51 Division. The Best goalie was the Sergeant A.P.G.S Weerasinghe of the 51 Division and the Best player was awarded to Lance Corporal N.A.K Dushmantha of the Security Forces Headquarters during the awards ceremony.
Towards the end of the awarding ceremony, the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna presented the 'Security Forces Jaffna Football Trophy-2019' to the winning team of the Security Force Headquarters.bridgemedia | Autres
