The Forward Maintenance Area - North Central (FMA-NC) celebrated its 26th anniversary on Monday (Jan 02) conducting several events that coincided also with the first working day of the New Year 2023.
At first, Major General Priyantha Weerasinghe, Commander of FMA (North Central) with Officers and Other Ranks for formalities like flag-hoisting, oath-taking, reading of the Commander’s New Year message, etc.
The FMA Commander was warmly welcomed by Colonel, FMA (North Central), Colonel Waruna Perera at the entrance and accorded a colourful Guard Turnout presented by troops of 2 Sri Lanka Ordnance Corps.
Moments later, the FMA Commander participated in the parade where national and Army flags were hoisted. Subsequently, the Commander addressed the troops before he planted a sapling in the compound as a symbol of memory.
Reaching the culmination of the day, he attended a traditional all-rank tea arrangement.
