FMA - East Commemorates its 29 Years of Logistic Service

The 29th anniversary of the Forward Maintenance Area - East (FMA - East) office was commemorated on Thursday (14 September) in a series of programmes, proposed by Major General M.W.T.C Meththananda USP ndc, Commander of FMA - East.

On Wednesday (13 September), an impactful community initiative took place with the cleaning of the Dharmapala Bosath Girls' Home premises, together with the workforce of the Department of Probation and Child Protection Services.

The arrangement followed a free offer of a nutritious lunch to 46 underprivileged children residing at the above Girls' Home. During the same occasion, school accessories were also donated to those children. Meanwhile, a thorough clean-up was conducted on both sides of the lake embankment leading to the Minneriya temple, beautifying the sacred premises.

On the anniversary day (September 14), a Guard of Honour saluted the FMA - East Commander. Addressing the troops during the occasion, he shared his insights, motivating and inspiring all attending the event. On the same day, a 'Bodhi Puja' ceremony was conducted at the Somawathiya Temple, fostering a sense of unity and spirituality among the participant troops.

Colonel FMA - East, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks joined the event.
