Major General M.W.T.C Mettananda USP ndc, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area – East (FMA-E) recently visited the 24 Infantry Division HQ in Ampara with the intention of receiving updates on logistic matters in under-command Brigades and Battalions.
The General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division, Major General W. Chandrasiri RSP USP psc and all Officers invited him to receive the Guard Turnout salute at the entrance after a warm welcome. Subsequently, he posed for a few group photographs with the Divisional Staff.
During the meeting, the Commander FMA-E and the Divisional Staff Officers discussed a range of logistic matters, including supply chain optimization, equipment maintenance schedules, and resource allocations. This collaborative approach was essential to address the unique challenges the Division faces, such as its diverse operational environments and rapid deployment requirements.
All Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers of Logistic Battalions participated in the meeting.
In the evening, Major General M.W.T.C Mettananda USP ndc had an interaction session with all Staff and Logistic Officers at the Officers’ Mess in the 24 Infantry Division. Before his departure, FMA-E Commander left a couple of thoughts and compliments in the 24 Infantry Division's Visitors' book.
