Brigadier Ravi Herath of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps assumed office as the 1st Director of the newly-established Perspective Planning and Implementation Cell (PP&I Cell) at the Army Headquarters on Monday (20) during a brief ceremony, attended by several Staff Officers and Senior Officers.
After religious observances, Brigadier Ravi Herath signed an official document and signified the acceptance of the new office.
The Perspective Planning and Implementation Cell (PP&I Cell) of the Sri Lanka Army was established under the Commander’s Secretariat as directed by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, designed to prepare strategic planning and implementing element of the Sri Lanka Army. It is also empowered to evaluate contemporary and future security requirements while sticking to the implementation of the provisions in the ‘Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy 2020-2025’.
