The inaugural ceremony of the Field Engineering Basic Module and Humanitarian Demining Course for Sri Lanka Women’s Corps commenced on Thursday (30) at the Vavuniya- based Field Engineer Brigade.
This is the first Humanitarian Demining Course, given to woman soldiers by the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Engineers.
Field Engineering Basic Module and Humanitarian Demining Course has been specially designed for 2 lady Officers and 30 woman Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Women’s Corps and the aim of the 3-week long course is to acquaint the operational redlines to achieve the desired goals of the future efforts of the Sri Lanka Army.
The Chief Field Engineer Major General Chandana Wijayasundera graced the inaugural occasion as the Chief Guest on the invitation of the Commander Field Engineer Brigade, Brigadier D. P Jayasinghe. All Staff officers and Other Ranks of Field Engineer Brigade participated in the event.
