Extending their hand of friendship to uplift living standards of the farming community, troops of the 651 Brigade of the 65 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi at the request of the Farmers’ Development Association at Kariyalanagapadduvan completely cleaned and repaired the irrigational water canal at Kariyalanagapadduvan.
Representatives of the organization after meeting the 651 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Ranjith Abeysinghe made this request since their cultivations could be affected in this season if adequate water supply does not reach them since the canal remains dilapidated and almost abandoned.
