The Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (DEME) commenced its inaugural outbound technical training for Engineering Officers for the year 2023 with a valuable lecture on 'Motorcycle repairing and maintenance' on Friday (Jan 13) at TVS Lanka Vehicle Assembling Complex, Horana with the participation of 20 Electrical Mechanical and Engineering (EME) Officers.
This was initiated according to the vision of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army and Major General Ranjan Jayasekara, Director General EME who closely supervised the project in coordination with the TVS Lanka company.
The training was especially focused on TVS Apache RTR 200 motorbikes that are mainly used in Quick Reaction Teams at all the Security Force Headquarters.
Mr Geethal Anthony, Chief Operations Officer, TVS Lanka, Mr Indika Pushpakumara, Assistant General Manager, Aftermarket and workshop operations and Ms Thanuja Dhinali, Assistant Manager, Corporate, were specially commended by the Director General, EME who attended as the chief guest for the programme and for arranging the event in coordination with the DEME of the Army.
