Elapathwewa School Gets Free Accessories through Army Troops

Troops of the 621 Brigade under the 62 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), launching one more humanitarian social service project distributed shoes, school bags, books and accessories among 27 underprivileged students, thanks to the sponsorship provided by UK-based Mr. Shevo Abeysinghe and four of his family members.

The remote Elapathwewa school in Kebithigollewa area has five classes (Grade 1 - 5) with 27 poor students whose parents are leading a hand to mouth life or living under economic hardships. 621 Brigade Commander, taking an initiative in this regard turned to those donors who were enthusiastic in assisting in this regard.

Each student under the project received a pair of branded DSI shoes, a school bag and a stock of accessories, required for the academic year - 2020. A brief ceremony in the school in the presence of the donors gave away those incentives on Tuesday (17).

Before the event, 621 Brigade troops cleaned the school surroundings with the support of parents and civilians in the area.
