Rising to the need of the hour, 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops of the 242 Brigade under the 24 Division of the Security Forces - East, immediately deployed a Unibuffel of the Army and evacuated civilians in flood-affected Lahugala areas in Ampara last evening (29) after torrential rains disrupted transport movements.
Major General Rasika Fernando, Commander, Security Forces - East, together with several Senior Officers including the General Officer Commanding, 24 Division rushed to the area and instructed the troops to take all possible measures to provide safety and transport facilities for stranded civilians due to swelling flood water levels.
The East Commander during his visit to those affected areas spoke with troops, engaged in relief work and instructed accordingly. He also shared views with Navy rescue teams attending to those emergency requirements.spy offers | Nike sneakers
